Over the years I've painted lots of people. I've found the inspiration to do so in different ways. As with the town scenes, when I see a subject that I know every one is noticing subconsciously, barely aware of it, definitely unaware that everyone else is also noticing, that to me is a great painting waiting to happen.
Sometimes a character is just classic, or strange, or any number of other descriptive words. Sometimes they are just beautiful ....and beautiful, to me, never means pretty.
Ultimately, the flavor of any small town is derived in no small measure from the contributions of its colorful characters.
