Come Closer
When I return to Chadds Ford, I hesitate to just go for a stroll on the farm until I've checked in again with the Kuerners. They were not at home so I sat out at this vantage point. Things started out ok but got much more difficult as the sun moved and became brighter. Finally I was roasting and blinded. I kept working though I could barely see. I really did not think this painting was going to fly. Still I kept plodding. I'm not sure where that comes from because I had lost all faith that I'd finish with a decent painting. Now I like it. The more that happens the more I learn to just keep going whether I believe or not. I call it come closer be cause I wished I could the whole time I worked but there was nowhere else to sit.— Eddie Flotte
