CHAMELEONS in MAKAWAO/ JOHN the CHAMELEON MAN	John liked to call himself the chameleon man. He had big dreams of shipping chameleons to pet shops on the mainland. The chameleons just appeared here in Hawaii around 1990. For a while kids could sell them to tourists for 10 to 20 dollars. Not anymore. John would often ask me to do his portrait. So finally I did. I like that his shirt has transitioning colors ...like a chameleon.
