Drawing boats like this from life can be tricky. They swing constantly from side to side, especially in a breeze. Anymore, it's rare in a rental spot to find wooden row boats . They're usually made of aluminum. My father and grandfather used to take me crabbing once a year. We'd sit all day together in a wooden row boat in the Great Egg Harbor Bay, pulling up blue crabs on handlines . As a painter I'm always drawn to a scene that evokes a memory. |
