The Jersey Shore

The term Jersey Shore, to me, is a description of the most beautiful place on earth. ... the back drop of the most wonderful moments of my life. It seems unfair that to people who didn't live it, who grew up in other parts of the country, the term could be synonymous with: 'Snooky', 'The Situation' and all the rest of the debauchery associated with the reality show of the same name. The actual reality is, that happy and wholesome families from countless miles away, mark the calander days until their "Jersey Shore" summer vacation, ... a time when they will forge unforgettable, happy memories with their children and friends in the ocean and on the boardwalk, riding bikes in the morning and merry-go-rounds at night. The beach is colored, end to end, with umbrellas, blankets and beach chairs. Sand castles, sea gulls and bobbing in the waves of the Atlantic make for magical, memorable days together. My childhood memories are brightened by time spent in Old Wildwood, crabbing in the back bays and marshes near Somers Point, and nights on piers over the ocean, playing skee ball, riding the tilt-a-whirl and crashing around in bumper cars.
The coast is lined with over 50 communities, including Long Branch, Asbury Park, Freehold, Ocean Grove, Belmar, Spring Lake, Atlantic City, Ocean City, Wildwood, and Stone Harbor.
Asbury Park is known for its rich musical history, perhaps most notably for its association with Bruce Springsteen and The Stone Pony.
